Chicago Condo... A New Lifestyle Evolves!
by Sherrie Magnini, Design Consultant, ASID

My clients, an energetic couple from the Chicago suburbs, have traded their quiet, "country" lifestyle, for the vibrant, "Chicago hi-rise" living!

This one-bedroom condo is their retreat.  The furnishings were chosen carefully to provide multiple functions and affordable luxury.  The large leaning mirror is positioned to expand the view of the lake from several vantages in the space.  We chose paint to enhance the decor and create a welcoming space.  My clients are very pleased with the result of their "DOTI" experience!

"I Could Live Here...."
by Pattie Peltier, DOTI Design Consultant

June's project features a beautiful new home built by Siena Custom Builders.  Our goal was to create an atmosphere that was "elegant but live-able".  As the home is currently for sale, we wanted potential buyers to walk in and say "I could live here...."

Something Old.... Something New!
by Jen Ranken, DOTI Design Consultant

My client wanted an ecletic-style family room.............   We began with a few of her existing side tables, and refreshed the feel of the room by adding rich color through an area rug as well as the upholstered sofa and chairs, and finished the room with artwork and a variety of accessories.  We were able to enhance the overall style with eclectic elements while still keeping it warm and cozy to ensure the entire family could enjoy it!

"Victorian Practicality"
designed by Jen Ranken

It was important for my client that we design the front parlor of her victorian home to be practical for her family... a space that was warm and inviting, and a room that they could use - to appreciate a good book or perhaps gather for a friendly game of cards.

We were able to update the space while complimenting its original charming architectural features with custom window treatments and beautifully tailored furniture.  Accents of rich wood tones, contrasting fabrics, leather, trim, fringe and tassels are just a few details that can be found throughout.

"European Elegance"

This unique property is an elegant and sophisticated home that graces the banks of the DuPage River in Downtown Naperville.  The home offers European-inspired architectural features with natural stone and wood finishes tailored to perfection with the finest old-world craftsmanship.

DOTI’s challenge with this spacious 13,000 square foot estate was to create a warm, and inviting ambiance which complements the home’s style and architectural details.  The rooms shown here depict just a taste of the luxury and comfort you’ll experience.

Located at 831 Diane Lane in Naperville, the "crown jewel" of Ashton Builders, Inc., is currently available for sale.

"A Reason to Come Home"
designed by Sherrie Magnini, ASID

My client had been living in this townhouse for a year when he decided it needed to become a "home".  His furnishings were sparce - not much to stay home for.

We began the project with a couple leather chairs, a cocktail table, a chess set, a love of Gorman prints and a passion for music.  The cocktail table with slate top inspired a theme of nature, while the Gorman prints established a color palette from the southwest "mountain" region.  Our relationship created synergy through which great trust evolved.

"Tom" now loves to come home and he enjoys the "complete" look created with DOTI.  Our accessorizing added a personal touch and completed the home which reflects his passions.

"A Cozy Retreat"
designed by Leslie Marsh

My client's desire was to transform the space from a pass through area between the family room/kitchen to a semi-formal sitting room.  This is the first space you see when you enter the home so I wanted to set the mood for what was to be expected in the areas beyond.

We replaced several pieces from their previous home, reupholstered her tub chairs and worked with her beautiful rug, creating a comfortable space for her to read, enjoy a glass of wine with her husband or just relax away from the TV.  My client is thrilled with her new retreat!

"The Velvet Lounge"
designed by Jen Ranken

My client wanted a one-of-a-kind contemporary lounge design that reflected his personality.  The initial in-home consultation allowed me to get a good sense of who my client was.

He is fond of "purple", so I utilized a violet Italian panne velvet for the window treatments, sectional and accents throughout the room.  A glass tubular wall system was designed to create the illusion of a divider between the seating area and the custom bar.  An exotic pecan floor was selected because of the unique way the grain of this hardwood accepts stain.

My client's willingness to trust me and my vision for the project resulted in a 100% gratifying outcome!  He has been "wowed" by the result..... I hope you are too!
